TLDR COVID-19 and its vaccines can cause hair loss, which is not serious and can improve with psychological support.
The review article from April 2022 discusses the increased prevalence of hair loss during the COVID-19 pandemic, including hair loss related to the virus itself and its vaccines. The types of hair loss examined include telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, friction alopecia, and anagen effluvium. The severity of the infection was found to correlate with the severity and duration of the alopecia. However, the authors emphasize that this complication is not serious and that psychological support plays a crucial role in resolving the condition earlier.
