    Male pattern hair loss may be a potential clue to the role of androgens in COVID-19 severity, according to a preliminary observation of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Spain. The study found that a high percentage of male COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms also had androgenetic alopecia, a genetic condition that causes hair loss. Androgens, such as testosterone, are known to play a role in hair loss and may also contribute to the severity of COVID-19 symptoms. Further research is needed to confirm this potential link and explore potential treatments.
