TLDR Some recovered COVID-19 patients experience skin, hair, and nail issues, suggesting they need follow-up care.
The study conducted a review and interviews with 93 recovered COVID-19 patients and found that 8.6% reported skin conditions, with maculopapular rash and urticaria being the most common. Hair shedding was reported by 23.7% of the patients, with a higher prevalence in females and in patients with moderate to critical COVID-19 severity. Only 2 patients with mild COVID-19 reported nail abnormalities. The study concluded that skin conditions, hair disorders, and nail abnormalities can occur in patients after their recovery from COVID-19, indicating the need for follow-up care.
