TLDR Rice Bran Supercritical CO2 Extract significantly increased hair density and diameter in male alopecia patients without any side effects.
In 2015, a 16-week double-blind randomized controlled trial involving 50 alopecia patients was conducted to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Rice Bran Supercritical CO2 Extract (RB-SCE) in treating androgenic alopecia. The study found that RB-SCE significantly increased hair density and diameter in male subjects, with no adverse reactions reported. The treatment was also well-received by patients. However, the study had limitations including a small number of subjects and lack of blood chemistry research. Further studies with larger sample sizes and more comprehensive research methods were recommended.
