TLDR Quercetin effectively treated and prevented hair loss in mice.
The study demonstrated that quercetin, a plant flavonoid with anti-inflammatory properties, effectively treated and prevented alopecia areata (AA) in the C3H/HeJ mouse model. Subcutaneous quercetin injections led to hair regrowth in all treated mice with spontaneous AA, while none of the sham-treated mice showed improvement. Quercetin also prevented heat-induced AA, with no treated mice developing alopecia compared to 24% in the sham group, and reduced the onset of spontaneous AA to 4% in treated mice versus 18% in controls. The findings suggested quercetin's potential as a therapeutic agent for AA, likely due to its ability to reduce HSP70 expression and modulate immune responses, warranting further clinical studies.

The user, who has done extensive research, suggested the cousin needs a 5ar inhibitor, but the cousin dismisses the advice because the user isn't a doctor.

The conversation is about the lack of improvement in hair loss after using Pyrilutamide for 14 weeks, with the original poster unable to use Finasteride due to depression. Replies suggest that Pyrilutamide, like RU58841, may not work for everyone, and a more potent drug is being developed by Kintor.
