TLDR The EQ-5D-5L tool may not accurately measure the impact of alopecia areata on patients' lives.
The study suggests that the EQ-5D-5L, a tool used to measure health-related quality of life (HRQL), may not effectively capture the burden of alopecia areata (AA) on patients. Its insensitivity to the specific impacts of AA implies that it may not accurately reflect the benefits of treatments related to hair regrowth. The authors recommend considering alternative measures that may be more relevant to the experiences of individuals with AA.
