TLDR Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) speeds up hair growth in mice.
The study investigated the effects of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on hair follicle growth in 20 female C57BL/6 mice, divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received subcutaneous injections of PRP, while the control group received saline. Results showed that the experimental group experienced faster hair growth and higher expression of Wnt10b, a protein associated with hair follicle proliferation. This suggests that PRP promotes the proliferation of hair matrix and inner hair root sheath cells, accelerating the hair follicle cycle, making it a promising treatment for alopecia.
