TLDR No benefits found using platelet-rich plasma in hair transplants for male hair loss.
A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in hair transplants for male patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study included 118 patients who received PRP and 57 control patients who did not. The results showed no significant differences between the two groups in terms of erythema, crusts, effluvium, loss of transplanted hair, or budding of transplanted hair. The final results also showed that the control group had better results than the PRP group. The study suggests that PRP associated with hair transplants for the treatment of AGA showed no benefits.
