TLDR PRP injections can improve stress incontinence symptoms in women.
This study investigated the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections as a treatment for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. Conducted at Sayed Galal hospital, the study involved 20 patients who received PRP injections at the anterior vaginal wall near the external urethral sphincter. Results showed significant improvement in incontinence symptoms at 1 and 3 months post-treatment, with no significant adverse reactions. Sexual function, measured by the Female Sexual Function Index, remained unchanged. The findings suggested that PRP injections could be a viable treatment option for SUI and encouraged further research into its clinical applications.
