TLDR PRP injections can effectively improve stress urinary incontinence in women.
This study investigated the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections as a minimally invasive treatment for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. Conducted at Sayed Galal hospital, the study involved 20 patients who received PRP injections at the anterior vaginal wall near the external urethral sphincter. Symptom severity was assessed using self-reported questionnaires before treatment and at 1 and 3 months post-treatment. The results showed significant improvement in incontinence at both follow-up points, with no significant adverse reactions or changes in sexual function reported. The study concluded that PRP injections could be a viable treatment option for SUI and suggested further research into its clinical applications.
