TLDR Pentoxifylline helps hair regrowth in rats with hair loss.
The study investigated the effectiveness of topical pentoxifylline in promoting hair regrowth in male Swiss albino rats experiencing alopecia induced by cyclophosphamide. The experiment involved 42 rats divided into seven groups, with cyclophosphamide administered to induce hair loss. Over a 14-day treatment period, pentoxifylline was applied topically, and results indicated that higher concentrations of pentoxifylline led to improved hair growth. Histopathological analysis and morphological observations confirmed strong follicular proliferation and enhanced hair growth in treated areas.
