The study from 2020 examined the effectiveness of Monofilament Threads in treating female androgenetic alopecia in 28 women with Ludwig Type II hair loss pattern. The treatment group, which received Monofilament Threads injections, showed a highly significant improvement in hair mass index (HMI) and hair count after 26 weeks compared to the placebo group, which received saline injections. Additionally, a majority of the treatment group reported positive changes in hair loss, thickness, and manageability, with no long-term complications reported during a one-year follow-up. The study concluded that Monofilament Threads are a significant and safe treatment for improving hair growth in women with pattern hair loss.
