A Mini Review on Photobiomodulation: Novel Approach

    Grisha Rajesh Ratnani, Vishnu Vardhan
TLDR Photobiomodulation therapy shows promise in treating various health conditions by using specific light wavelengths.
The mini-review from 3 years ago examined the literature on photobiomodulation (PBM), a non-thermal laser treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light for therapeutic effects. PBM was found to influence cell function, proliferation, migration, and tissue regeneration, showing promising results in treating neurological, pulmonary, inflammatory, dermatological, wound healing conditions, and oncology. The therapy utilized a biphasic dose-response approach, tailoring specific laser types and wavelengths to each condition to achieve desired therapeutic outcomes.
