TLDR Microneedle therapy combined with Hwangryeonhaedoktang solution improved hair growth in mice better than microneedle therapy alone.
The study on C57BL/6N mice demonstrated that combining Hwangryeonhaedoktang Pharmacopuncture Solution (HRHDT) with Microneedle Therapy System (MTS) significantly promoted hair growth, enhancing hair density, thickness, and length more effectively than MTS alone or the control. Over 17 days, 4 groups of 3 mice each were treated, and the HRHDT+MTS group showed increased hair follicle development and elevated expression of hair growth-related cytokines (IGF-1, VEGF, PRL, PL) without adverse effects. The study concluded that HRHDT and MTS together could be a promising treatment for alopecia, though longer-term studies are needed.
