TLDR Placenta polypeptide injection is a safe and effective treatment for sensitive skin.
This multicenter, randomized controlled trial evaluated the safety and efficacy of mesotherapy with placenta polypeptide injection (PPI) for treating moderate-to-severe sensitive skin in 156 adults. Participants were divided into a PPI group and a control group, with the PPI group receiving three sessions of treatment over 90 days. Results showed that the PPI group had a significantly greater reduction in skin hemoglobin content, indicating reduced cutaneous inflammation, compared to the control group. Additionally, 88.9% of the PPI group reported aesthetic improvement, versus 5.9% in the control group. The incidence of adverse events was similar between groups, with no serious events reported. The study concludes that PPI mesotherapy is an effective and safe treatment for sensitive skin.
