TLDR The supplement improved hair health and reduced shedding in people with telogen effluvium.
The study on Pilopeptan® Intensive, involving 343 participants, demonstrated significant improvements in hair parameters such as thickness, amount, shedding, strength, brightness, and softness in individuals with telogen effluvium (TE) over a 1-month treatment period and a subsequent 30-day washout. The supplement, containing hydrolyzed collagen, vitamins B5 and B6, and zinc, was well-tolerated with mild side effects and high adherence. The benefits persisted post-washout, suggesting lasting effects, and participants reported satisfaction with the treatment. While the results are promising, further research, particularly randomized controlled trials, is needed to confirm long-term efficacy and safety. The study was funded by Laboratorio Genove S.A. with no conflicts of interest reported.
