TLDR FFA and FAPD might be related or stages of the same disease.
The study investigates the histopathological differences between frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) and fibrosing alopecia in a pattern distribution (FAPD), noting that FFA causes more significant structural disruption. The findings suggest that FFA and FAPD may either be overlapping conditions or stages of the same disease process. The study highlights the need for further research to understand the contribution of androgenetic factors, lymphohistiocytic infiltrate, and perifollicular lamellar fibrosis in these conditions.
