The study analyzed 320 male patients with male pattern alopecia (MPA) to assess the efficacy of finasteride and the impact of MPA on life quality. Patients took 1 mg/day of finasteride for over 4 months, resulting in an 80.8% efficacy rate. The study found that MPA significantly affected patients' life quality and psychological well-being, with factors such as inheritance and psychological influences being correlated with MPA. The research concluded that finasteride is an effective and safe treatment for MPA, and recommended psychotherapy and other treatments to address the psychological effects of hair loss.
