    This study reveals that Caspase-1, traditionally recognized as part of the cytosolic inflammasome, plays a novel extracellular role in promoting the migration of hair follicle stem cells to the epidermis during wound healing. The research highlights that Caspase-1, through its caspase activation recruitment domain (CARD), is sufficient to trigger this migration, providing new insights into the mechanisms underlying epithelial hyperplasia in inflammatory skin conditions. This discovery enhances the understanding of how hair follicle stem cells are mobilized in response to skin injury and inflammation.
