TLDR Sfrp2 increases during hair follicle catagen phase and slows keratinocyte growth.
The study indicated that Sfrp2 expression was elevated during the catagen phase of hair follicles, suggesting its role in this phase by inhibiting keratinocyte proliferation. Sfrp2 functioned as a Wnt inhibitor in keratinocytes, which may have contributed to the regulation of hair follicle cycling.
