TLDR COX-2 and Bcl-2 proteins are involved in Lichen Planus.
In the study conducted on 50 clinically and histopathologically confirmed cases of Lichen Planus, researchers investigated the expression of Bcl-2, a protein that plays a significant role in protecting cells from apoptosis (programmed cell death), and COX-2, an enzyme that is involved in inflammation, tumor growth, invasion, and the inhibition of apoptosis. The expression levels of these proteins were examined using immunohistochemical staining techniques. The collected data were then statistically analyzed to understand the involvement of these proteins in Lichen Planus.
