TLDR PRP effectively reduces hair loss, improves hair quality, and increases hair density.
The study evaluated the clinical efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for treating non-scarring alopecia in 261 patients with androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium. PRP was administered intradermally under sedation, and results showed a reduction in hair loss at an average of 4.56 weeks and new hair growth at 10.8 weeks. Increased hair density was observed in men at 4.6 months and in women at 7.25 months. Patient satisfaction was high, with average scores of 7.6 for women and 7 for men. The study concluded that growth factors in PRP effectively reduced hair loss, improved follicle quality, and increased hair density, leading to high patient satisfaction.
