TLDR Finasteride effectively reduces and reverses hair loss in men.
The review aimed to determine the efficacy of Finasteride in reducing or reversing androgenic alopecia by analyzing three randomized controlled trials from 2006, 2008, and 2009. The studies, which compared Finasteride to placebo or other treatments, measured outcomes based on hair counts and photographic analysis, supplemented by self-assessment questionnaires. Results from all three trials showed that oral Finasteride therapy (1-5 mg) led to a measurable reversal of hair loss in men. The conclusion indicated that Finasteride effectively reduced and reversed androgenic alopecia, though further research was needed to determine if continuous daily use was necessary for maintaining hair regrowth.
