TLDR The botanical shampoo with Morus alba root extract is safe and effective for treating hair loss.
This single-center, open-label pilot study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a botanical shampoo containing Morus alba root extract (MARE) in 20 patients with mild to moderate non-scarring alopecia over 12 weeks. Significant improvements were observed in hair density and hair shaft thickness, with the average hair diameter increasing from 50.83 ± 8.97 µm to 55.56 ± 9.31 µm in the vertex and from 60.06 ± 9.84 µm to 64.56 ± 6.79 µm in the occiput. Blinded investigators reported moderate improvements in alopecia, and participants expressed moderate satisfaction with the results. No significant adverse events were reported, indicating that the MARE shampoo is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss. Further research with larger sample sizes and controlled groups is recommended.

The user experienced significant hair improvement after one year using topical finasteride and minoxidil, combined with a hair transplant at the front. They switched from oral to topical finasteride due to side effects and are satisfied with the results, especially at the temples.
