TLDR Cerasus serrulata flower extracts can help turn grey hair black again.
The study explores the hair-blacking effects of Cerasus serrulata flower extracts (CSE) in C57BL/6 mice, demonstrating that CSE significantly enhances β-catenin and VEGF expression, promoting hair growth and pigmentation. The research, involving 15 mice per group, suggests CSE as a potential treatment for premature greying, likely through the VEGF pathway. CSE was found to be non-toxic up to 2000 mg/kg, with the 5% concentration showing the most significant effects. However, higher concentrations (10%) inhibited VEGF expression, indicating the need for further research to fully understand the molecular mechanisms.
