TLDR The treatment improved hair growth and thickness in patients with hair loss, even 10 months after therapy without additional products.
The follow-up study by Toffanello et al. from 2021 focused on the long-term effects of vacuum therapy combined with plant bioactive compounds, prebiotics, and probiotics on hair growth in 7 participants with severe cases of androgenetic alopecia, female pattern hair loss, and telogen effluvium. These participants were part of a larger initial study of 25 individuals and were followed for an additional 10 months after the initial 57-day treatment period. The results indicated that 29% of participants experienced intense hair growth, 42% moderate hair growth, and 29% light hair growth, with 57% showing increased hair strand thickness and 43% a slight increase. The study concluded that the treatment was effective in promoting hair growth and increasing hair strand thickness even 10 months after the therapy had ended, without the use of any home care hair products.
