TLDR Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells help rabbit skin wounds heal faster.
The study investigated the potential of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to differentiate into epidermal cells and aid in the healing of rabbit skin wounds. MSCs were cultured, labeled, and applied to skin wounds on rabbits, with one side receiving MSCs and collagen (treatment group) and the other side only collagen (control group). Results showed that the treatment group had a significantly higher wound contraction rate and faster healing time compared to the control group. Histological analysis revealed a thicker epidermis in the treatment group and the presence of BrdU positive cells in the regenerated skin, indicating that MSCs contributed to skin regeneration by differentiating into epidermal cells.
