TLDR Cold-pressed plant oils have valuable natural antioxidants and skin care benefits.
The study evaluates the bioactive compounds and antioxidant properties of 10 cold-pressed plant oils from seeds, emphasizing their cosmetic applications. Fenugreek seed oil had the highest carotenoid content, while pomegranate oil showed the strongest antioxidant activity. These oils, rich in essential fatty acids, phenolic compounds, and antioxidants, offer benefits such as improved skin barrier function, anti-inflammatory effects, and UV protection. Notably, fenugreek oil supports epidermal regeneration and prevents greasy scalp and hair loss. The research underscores the potential of these natural oils in cosmetics and haircare, highlighting their role in enhancing skin and hair health.
