TLDR Camellia oleifera leaves have compounds beneficial for cosmetics and medicine.
This study explored the chemical composition and bioactive properties of Camellia oleifera C. Abel leaf extracts, focusing on their potential for cosmetic and pharmaceutical uses. Using three solvents, the 50% ethanolic extract was found to have the highest polyphenol and flavonoid contents, along with superior antioxidant activity. Nine compounds were identified, with compound 1 showing strong DPPH scavenging activity and compound 9 significantly enhancing HaCaT cell proliferation. These findings suggest that C. oleifera leaves are a promising source of bioactive compounds.
