TLDR BD 1/4 dilution is the best for treating localized alopecia areata in adults.
The study compared the efficacy and safety of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) and betamethasone dipropionate (BD) injections at different concentrations for treating localized alopecia areata in 83 adults with 231 alopecia patches. Both BD1 (1/4 dilution) and TA1 (1/4 dilution) required fewer sessions (4.21 ± 1.12 and 3.74 ± 0.99, respectively) and showed similar hair regrowth and treatment success rates. However, adverse effects were more common in the TA groups (24.3%) compared to the BD groups (10.6%). The study concluded that BD 1/4 dilution (1.25 mg/dL) was the best corticosteroid for intralesional injection in treating localized alopecia areata in adults.
