TLDR Clinopodium bolivianum essential oil boosts antioxidant activity in hair products, especially in combing cream.
This study assessed the antioxidant activity of Clinopodium bolivianum essential oil in three hair cosmetic formulations: shampoo, combing cream, and capillary lotion. The essential oil, with pulegone as its main component, demonstrated significant radical scavenging activity, particularly in the combing cream with 0.5% essential oil, which showed the highest antioxidant activity. Stability tests confirmed that all formulations maintained their properties under accelerated conditions. These results suggest that C. bolivianum essential oil could enhance the protective and functional properties of hair care products. However, the study does not mention the number of participants, which is important for evaluating the findings' robustness.
