TLDR Androgenetic alopecia requires a personalized treatment plan and psychological support to improve quality of life.
Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) was identified as a common cause of hair loss, significantly impacting the quality of life across different ages and genders. The study emphasized the importance of a thorough and standardized diagnostic approach for AGA in developing effective treatment plans. Treatment options included topical and systemic medications, cosmetic products, nutricosmetics, hair transplantation, and aesthetic-corrective methods. The decision on the best treatment was to be made collaboratively by the physician and patient, considering expected outcomes, practicality, and compliance. The study also highlighted the need for interdisciplinary evaluation and psychological support to manage the emotional impact of AGA. The S1 and S3 guidelines provided essential tools for evidence-based management of AGA, aiming to enhance patient satisfaction and compliance through a professional and sensitive approach.
