TLDR Amazonian peppers may help treat male hair loss.
The study explored the potential of Amazonian peppers as ingredients for treating male androgenic alopecia. Researchers investigated the chemical composition, cytotoxicity, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-angiogenic activities of organic extracts from these peppers. The extract named PAA1 demonstrated a promising chemical profile, low cytotoxicity, and the ability to inhibit nitric oxide formation without affecting blood vessel formation in chicken embryos. Additionally, PAA1 showed compatibility with shampoo formulations. These findings suggested that PAA1 could be a viable candidate for further research as an adjuvant in treating male androgenic alopecia.
