TLDR Massaging the scalp with a cosmetic containing certain natural inhibitors can significantly regrow hair in men with pattern baldness.
In 2018, Lorenzo Martini conducted a study on a 49-year-old man suffering from androgenetic alopecia, who had a high libido and used various aphrodisiacs. The subject was asked to massage a cosmetic containing four 5 alpha reductase inhibitors onto his scalp twice a day for three months. The inhibitors included betasitosterol, green tea catechins, black pepper oil, and curcumin. The study used the histological H&E test to monitor hair regrowth, which showed a significant increase in the number of hair follicles in the anagen phase (growth phase) and a decrease in the telogen phase (resting or shedding phase) after just one week. After two weeks, hair restoration was almost complete. The Savin scale, used to measure hair regrowth, showed that after two weeks, the subject had reached degree II-1, and after two months, degree I-2 was achieved, indicating significant hair regrowth. The subject's blood testosterone level also decreased from 1103 ng/dl to 256 ng/dl by the end of the experiment.
