TLDR The SARS-CoV-2 vaccine may be linked to triggering autoimmune conditions like Alopecia Areata.
This document reports a case of a 63-year-old woman who experienced a recurrence of Alopecia Areata (AA) in the form of Alopecia Areata Universalis after 32 years of remission, which was precipitated by the administration of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. The case adds to a growing body of evidence suggesting a possible link between the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine and the onset or recurrence of autoimmune conditions like AA. The document also includes a brief review of other published cases that presented similar post-vaccination AA occurrences, indicating an area of interest for further research into the relationship between immune dysregulation and vaccines.
