TLDR PRP and fibrin treatments improve skin thickness and density, regardless of age.
This study evaluated the effects of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) treatments on skin density and thickness in 20 female participants aged 30–60. The treatments, administered three times at 4–6 week intervals, resulted in significant improvements in skin density and thickness, particularly in the lower eyelid area, with consistent results across all age groups. The study confirmed that the effectiveness of PRP and PRF is independent of age and validated high-frequency ultrasound as a reliable tool for measuring skin changes. Despite the small sample size and lack of a control group, the findings suggest that PRP and PRF treatments are effective in enhancing skin appearance and patient satisfaction, warranting further research with larger, controlled trials.
