TLDR Injectable platelet-rich fibrin (I-PRF) is more effective than platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for treating hair loss.
This study compared the efficacy of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (I-PRF) with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating androgenic alopecia (AGA) in a randomized controlled trial involving 100 patients. Conducted at Sheikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan, the trial assessed hair growth parameters, patient satisfaction, and adverse events over 6 months. Results showed that the I-PRF group experienced significantly greater improvements in hair density and thickness compared to the PRP group, with higher patient satisfaction and fewer adverse events. The findings suggest that I-PRF is a more effective treatment for AGA than PRP, highlighting its potential as a promising therapeutic option. Further research is recommended to explore the mechanisms and optimize I-PRF use in AGA management.

A user successfully regrew hair after nearly going bald by using oral finasteride, topical minoxidil, plasma injections, and mesotherapy over 9 months. They plan to try derma rolling and have an alarm set for taking medication, noting increased sexual drive as a side effect.
