March 2025 in “Molecules” The study examines the effects of Kyoh® rocket leaf extract on human dermal follicle papilla cells, highlighting its potential as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia. Kyoh® contains 2.1% total flavonoids and significantly enhances the expression of hair growth-associated growth factors VEGF and FGF7, with increases of up to 267.3% and 244.3% respectively after 24 hours. It also boosts NRF2 expression by 71.2%, suggesting antioxidant benefits. The extract does not affect 5α-reductases, indicating it does not interfere with DHT production. These findings suggest Kyoh® could be a promising natural alternative to chemical treatments, promoting hair growth with fewer side effects.
