    GlossaryClub Hair

hair in the resting phase with a bulbous end

Club hair refers to a hair strand that has completed its growth cycle and is in the resting phase, known as the telogen phase. The base of the hair forms a "club" shape, which is a bulbous end that anchors the hair in the follicle until it eventually sheds to make way for new growth. This is a normal part of the hair growth cycle and typically accounts for 10-15% of hairs on a healthy scalp.
