    Oncogenic mutations, also known as cancer-causing mutations, are changes in the DNA that can transform a normal cell into a cancerous one. These mutations often occur in genes that regulate cell growth, division, and death, such as oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumor formation.
