    This study investigated the effects of transforming growth factor-ß (TGF-ß) via platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on segmental bone defects in rabbit tibia bones. Conducted on 10 adult New Zealand rabbits, the study compared the healing of bone defects treated with PRP to those without. Results showed that the PRP group had a higher mean fracture healing score (3.2) compared to the control group (1.3), indicating enhanced bone union and reduced healing time. Immunohistological evaluations confirmed that the PRP group exhibited more advanced stages of bone development. The study concluded that PRP administration could be a cost-effective treatment with fewer complications for segmental bone defects.
