TLDR WNT10B is linked to cancer development and affects survival and disease progression in various cancers.
The document from 2018 reviews the role of WNT10B in various biological processes and diseases, highlighting its involvement in cancer development and progression. In Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), WNT10B is up-regulated and contributes to the regenerative function of hematopoietic stem cells, with a specific WNT10BR allele associated with intermediate/unfavorable risk AML. In Endometrial Cancer (EC), higher WNT10B expression is linked to a better prognosis in certain cases. Prostate cancer shows increased WNT10B in reactive stroma, which decreases apoptosis and increases angiogenesis in cancer cells. Overexpression of WNT10B in breast cancer is associated with tumorigenesis and metastasis prediction in triple-negative breast cancers. In Osteosarcoma (OS), WNT10B correlates with reduced survival and activates pathways leading to more aggressive tumors. Additionally, WNT10B is implicated in mammary gland development, immune system function, tissue regeneration, split hand/foot malformation, and obesity.
