TLDR Higher testosterone and lower Vitamin D levels are linked to hair loss in female COVID-19 patients.
This study examined 100 females with COVID-19 in Babylon province and found that those experiencing hair loss had higher testosterone levels and lower vitamin D levels compared to those without hair loss. It suggests an inverse relationship between testosterone and vitamin D, indicating that hormonal and nutritional factors significantly contribute to post-COVID-19 hair loss. The findings support previous research linking vitamin D deficiency to hair loss conditions such as telogen effluvium and alopecia areata, emphasizing the need to consider these factors in understanding hair loss dynamics after COVID-19 infection.
