TLDR Higher thyroid hormone levels may be linked to certain types of polycystic ovary syndrome.
The study found that patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) had higher levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) compared to a control group, indicating a potential link between elevated TSH and PCOS. A significant correlation was observed between TSH levels and different PCOS phenotypes, particularly in patients with phenotype A, which includes hyperandrogenism (HA), ovulatory dysfunction (OD), and polycystic ovarian morphology (PCOM). These findings suggested the need for careful evaluation and management of endocrine differences in this patient group.
