Absorbance, also known as Optical Density (OD), is a measure of how much light a substance absorbs as it passes through a sample. In the context of biology and hair research, absorbance can be used to quantify the concentration of specific molecules, such as proteins or pigments, in a solution by measuring the reduction in light intensity at a particular wavelength.
