TLDR Myo-inositol plus α-lactalbumin works better than myo-inositol alone for improving symptoms of PCOS.
The document presents multiple studies involving a total of 214 anovulatory women diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). The studies compared the effects of myo-inositol alone and myo-inositol combined with α-lactalbumin on reproductive and metabolic disturbances in these women. The results consistently showed that the combination of myo-inositol and α-lactalbumin was more effective than myo-inositol alone in improving ovulation rate, menstrual cycle duration, and hyperandrogenism. Additionally, the combination therapy led to a significant reduction in body weight and improved clinical signs of hyperandrogenism. The studies concluded that the combination of myo-inositol and α-lactalbumin offers clear benefits in the management of PCOS. However, the studies acknowledged their limitations, including the small number of patients and the short treatment period.
