TLDR Myo-inositol helps improve skin conditions and metabolic profiles in young women with PCOS.
In a study conducted from May 2007 to August 2008 involving 50 young women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), researchers evaluated the efficacy of myo-inositol (MYO) in treating cutaneous disorders like hirsutism and acne. Participants, averaging 25.4 years of age, received 2 grams of MYO and 200 micrograms of folic acid twice daily for 6 months. The treatment led to significant reductions in plasma luteinizing hormone, testosterone, free testosterone, insulin levels, and the homeostasis model assessment index after 3 months, with no significant changes in follicle-stimulating hormone and androstenedione levels. After 6 months, clinical improvements in hirsutism and acne were observed. The study concluded that MYO is a simple and safe treatment that improves the metabolic profile of PCOS patients and reduces hirsutism and acne.

Other users suggest various online sources for treatments, warn against self-medicating due to potential risks, and recommend seeking a specialized endocrinologist or considering additional treatments like Inositol, Berberine, and dermaneedling.
