TLDR The technique successfully promoted hair growth and skin renewal in mice.
The study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of transfecting the human VEGF165 gene into bleomycin-induced sclerotic skin in mice using an electroporatic technique. The results showed that transgenic mice exhibited increased hair growth on their backs compared to non-transgenic mice, with a significant increase in the number of hair follicles (12.0±1.6/field). Additionally, there was increased thickness and angiogenesis of the dermis, and enhanced expression of the VEGF165 gene in the epidermis and dermis. The study concluded that the electroporatic technique effectively transfected the exogenous gene into sclerotic skin, promoting hair growth and renewing atrophic dermis in mice.
