A Timosaponin B-II Containing Scalp Care Solution for Improvement of Scalp Hydration, Dandruff Reduction, and Hair Loss Prevention: A Comparative Study on Healthy Volunteers Before and After Application

The study evaluated the effects of a scalp care solution containing 0.5% Timosaponin B-II, derived from the plant Anemarrhena asphodeloides, on scalp health and hair loss prevention. Ninety subjects first used a base solution without Timosaponin B-II for two weeks, followed by the Timosaponin B-II solution for 28 days. Assessments were made weekly, measuring factors such as hair follicle hydrocortisone levels, hair fall count, hair luster, dandruff, sensation, hydration, lipid levels, redness, and scalp pH. The results showed significant improvements in hair luster, scalp hydration, reduction in hair fall, and decreased scalp redness when compared to baseline values. The study concluded that the Timosaponin B-II containing solution could benefit scalp health and potentially prevent hair loss.
