The Formation of Hair Follicle induced by Immortalized Human Dermal Papilla Cell Line in vivo

    Jinjin Wu
The study investigated the ability of the immortalized human dermal papilla cell line, DPC-hTERT, to induce hair follicle formation in vivo. Researchers co-injected DPC-hTERT cells at passage 30 with freshly isolated hair follicle epithelial cells into nude mice. The results showed that this combination formed hair follicle-like structures that expressed hair follicle-specific keratin. The conclusion was that DPC-hTERT retained the normal function of dermal papilla cells and could induce hair follicle-like structures in vivo.
